The Polish government and NATO determined Wednesday that a suspected Russian missile strike in Polish territory was not intentional, but most likely a wayward Ukrainian air defense missile manufactured in Russia.  The missile had landed near the Polish border village of Przewodów killing two and damaging agricultural infrastructure.

“Ukraine’s air defense was launching missiles in various directions and it is highly probable that one of these missiles unfortunately fell on Polish territory,” Polish President Andrzej Duda said in a statement. “There is nothing, absolutely nothing, to suggest that it was an intentional attack on Poland.”

It was speculated earlier on Tuesday that the soviet-era missile was fired by Russia and may or have not landed in Polish territory by mistake.

Russia denies any involvement.
